A Word From Our Founder

Hello and Thank You to all who've subscribed to our newsletter! This being our first edition is pretty exciting in and of itself and since it's our first, it'll run a little longer than those I expect to release going forward, so please bear with me on this one. I am thrilled by the progress we've made to date and I can't wait to tell you about the good things that are happening as I write this. Every newsletter we release will have a similar format - it will introduce our new nonprofit partners and it will highlight our People Who Care feature, as well as, spotlight new and noteworthy promotions and retailers.

Let's begin with our new nonprofit partners -- you'll note that we showcase our new partners under three headers - international, domestic and regional issues. The groups listed in this column all feature reciprocally linked custom nonprofitshoppingmall.com (NPSM) shopping windows on their sites, which help to mobilize and monetize their existing donor and support bases. Check out how this works by clicking on a group's logo - it'll take you to their homepage where you'll find our NPSM People. When you click on OUR People, you'll be directed straight to the mall where you can shop+give to that particular organization. Easy huh!

The groups listed under international and domestic issues also appear on our site, while the Kevin J. Hannaford Sr. Foundation, listed under regional issues, does not. By developing what we call an external link, they now have a custom NPSM shopping window in their site, which enables their community of supporters to utilize our technology and still shop+give to benefit their own organization. It was my pleasure to learn more about the Kevin J. Hannaford Sr. Foundation and their mission and I thank Adam Kastin for his vision, patience and dedication while we worked out the details.

We envision working with a wide range of regionally based organizations over the next year and truly feel that our external links program can help smaller organizations raise funds without the expense of hiring additional IT personnel or adding to the workload of existing development or marketing staff.

The rest of the features in this first newsletter are pretty self-explanatory - but I do want to send out a big, big thank you to our publicists at LB Lipman Public Relations in New York for getting us some great broadcast and print exposure that included The Rachel Ray Show, The Montel Williams Show and Good Day New York.

Our retail partners on those projects were both gracious and generous and I want to thank them again here: ICE.com, Klinq.com and Organic Style.

A couple of shout-outs are in order before I sign off: to Kristy Walker at Organic Style/Organic Bouquet and Michael Straus of Straus Communications, thank you for your generous support, all the work you've put into shaping the promotions and your meticulous follow-through. You'll have an opportunity to see these promotions at work on two upcoming syndicated TV spots. On Valentine's Day Organic Style will dress the set for IN THE LOOP, the iVillage talk show based in Chicago with more than 12 dozen lush, deep red Freedom roses, named in honor of Rosa Parks. For more on where you can see the show in your area, please visit www.iVillage.com. Also, be on the look out for another segment with Organic Style on The Montel Williams Show, as a part of his Living Well Series. We don't have an airdate as yet so, again, check his website for that information at www.montelshow.com.

Last but certainly not least - thanks to all of you who've found us and have changed the way you shop, turning everyday shopping into everyday giving, everyday!

Talk to you all again next month -

Green At Home - Eco, Elegant and Gorgeous!

In an attempt to better acquaint you with some of our shop green retailers, I've started this column so you'll have an idea as to what you can expect to find once you go exploring on some of these sites, while at the same time, giving you a little background as to overall business philosophies and best practices. Over the last month of so, we've added a number of green retailers - it's unlikely I'll be able to outline all our eco-friendly merchants in this first go-round, so I've started with sites that are geared toward home décor, bed, bath and floral.
